McNamara’s Irish Pub and Restaurant welcomes guests with Irish warmth and hospitality, serving up stunning dishes from Ireland. The pub has a cozy cottage feel with various dining sections including the Cottage Room, History Room and the Main Room which has a stage for live music. A sports lounge on the second level offers trivia, darts and more.
DINING
The corned beef and cabbage is divine. Chef Magic cooks the beef for 12 hours at 225 degrees. The cabbage is placed in beef stock and includes apple cider vinegar, onions, potatoes and carrots. The roast is amazing and tender with the chunky vegetables. It’s some of the best corned beef in town.
The Irish stew offers a medley of flavor, with huge chunks of carrots and potatoes. The beef is slow simmered with Worcestershire, brown sugar, bay leaves and parsnips.
The Irish coffee is ” just like from back home,” says manager Paula McNamara, whose warmth fills the pub. It is prepared by first heating up the glass, next is a teaspoon of brown sugar, then Jamison Irish whiskey, fresh hot coffee and topped with whipped cream, which is poured over the back of a spoon. It can pass for a Guinness.
Irish tea is served boiling hot with milk and moist Irish wheaten bread. It is a blissful combo.
Live music is offered Tuesday through Sunday and surprise appearances by the Nashville Irish stepdancers. It is great for all ages.
